Introduction

Juni ("we," "us," or "our") is a language learning flashcard app designed for children ages 3–8. We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable privacy laws.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how parents can exercise their rights regarding their child's data.

Data Storage and Security

Learning progress and preferences are stored locally on your device so the app works offline. When a parent is signed in, the same data is synced to our cloud database (hosted by Supabase) so progress carries across devices on the same account.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Parental Rights Under COPPA

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account data for as long as the account is active. Parents may delete their account directly within the app by going to Settings → Delete Account. This will immediately and permanently delete the account profile, child name, and all learning progress from our servers.

Alternatively, parents may request deletion by emailing s.pushpesh@gmail.com. Upon receiving a deletion request, we will delete the account and all associated data from our servers within 30 days.

Locally stored data on the device can be removed by uninstalling the app.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify parents via the email address associated with their account. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.

COPPA Compliance Statement

Juni complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Account creation requires a parent or legal guardian's email address. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.
